David Huett assumed the duties of Managing Partner of ICA after retiring from EnRisk Services, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas as of December 31, 2011.
Dave has over 44 years of professional risk management and insurance brokerage experience. He has earned UCLA’s “Award in Insurance and Risk Management”, the highly respected “Certified Risk Manager” (CRM) designation conferred by Certified Risk Managers International, the “Certified Insurance Counselor” (CIC) designation, and the “Associate in Risk Management” (ARM) designation awarded by the Insurance Institute of America.
During Dave's 18+ years with EnRisk, it has grown from 1 office to 2 by adding Houston and has added a joint venture operation in Denver (Vangilder | EnRisk) which is operated by EnRisk. The exclusive concentration of both EnRisk and vg|er continues to be the energy field. Dave became President and a Principal for EnRisk in 1996.
He has served as the chairman or as a member of various industry committees or councils on such subjects as education and workers’ compensation. At EnRisk, heavy emphasis was on indemnities and other contractual issues affecting the risk management and insurance programs of EnRisk clients.
Dave has spoken before many energy groups on issues involving contractual relationships and insurance, including various COPAS chapters, the Dallas Bar Association Oil and Gas Law Conference, Houston Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas Advanced Oil Gas and Mineral Law Course, the AAFL National Convention and various MPL chapters, and the North American Petroleum Accounting Conference.
Besides being heavily involved in oil and gas interests for EnRisk clients, during his career, Dave has also arranged and handled risk management and insurance for the California Angels Major League Baseball Team, numerous radio and television broadcast stations, the Queen Mary, The Disneyland Hotel, and the unique Hughes Flying Boat (Spruce Goose).
